EBBA AAEN (E 509) was ordered in 1931 by Christian Mourits Jensen Aaen, Esbjerg, at NP Jensens Skibs & Bådebyggeri, Esbjerg, at the same time as the DAGMAR AAEN (E 510), which is now owned by German polar researcher Arved Fuchs is used by this as an expedition ship. The type of ship was referred to as a "shark" because these ships were the first trawlers to install an auxiliary diesel and therefore returned faster to the fishing areas and back into the ports for better catches and prices.
The EBBA AAEN was recorded on 18 March 1931 in the Danish Ship Register. From 1954-1972 the cutter was owned by the fisherman Klaus Christian Jensen, Esbjerg. In 1959 he became the first Esbjergkutter a 6-cylinder Volvo Penta diesel 125hp diesel engine (MD96).
From 1972-1974 the cutter was owned by C.E. Pedersen from Hvide Sande and registered under the name IRMA (RI 291). . In 1976 Karl Ingolf Gustav Blomgren registered the ship under the name DRES as a leisure ship with home port Randers. Under it was a total renovation.
After his death in 1998, the son Morten Karl Blomgren sold the Haikutter 2005 to the architect
Poul-Erik Clausen, Ebeltoft, who baptized the ship again EBBA AAEN with home port in the frigate port Ebeltoft.
In 2014, Poul-Erik Clausen and Nis-Edwin List-Petersen agreed to swap their ships EBBA AAEN and SOLVANG, the transfer took place in late September 2014.
EBBA AAEN is now based in Aabenraa and is used by Hajkutterlauget EBBA AAENas a recreational- and club vessel.
The EBBA AAEN was declared "worthy vehicle" by "Skibsbevaringsfonden" in November 2017.
